A body was discovered in Van Buren County last week and officials have launched an investigation.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s office announced a deceased male was found in a wooded area near Pittsburg on Saturday.
Authorities say the deceased is a 54-year-old male from Davenport. His identity was not disclosed.
The remains will be transported to the Iowa State Medical Examiner for an autopsy. No other details were released.
