LifeServe Blood Center and Monroe County Hospital & Clinics announced their new partnership. LifeServe Blood Center, ranked as one of the top 15 blood centers in the country, has been the sole supplier of all blood and blood products to Monroe County Hospital & Clinics in Albia, Iowa since October 1, 2023.

LifeServe Blood Center provides 100% of all blood products needed to more than 160 hospitals across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. This new partnership between LifeServe and Monroe County Hospital & Clinics allows Monroe County residents and community members the opportunity to save lives in their neighborhoods. As a community-based blood center, LifeServe only hosts blood drives in the communities where that blood will go back into the area hospitals.

As we enter the winter months, inclement weather, holidays, and travel can keep donors from coming in to donate. Tragedy can strike at a moment’s notice, especially amidst winter weather. It is impossible to know who will need blood at any given time, but when donors donate blood with LifeServe, they can now know that it will go back to someone in need in their community.

“We’re thrilled to be offering community members in Monroe County and the surrounding area the opportunity to make sure their
donation stays local,” said Danielle West, Regional Vice President at LifeServe Blood Center. “You never know when you, your neighbor, a family member, or a friend may need a lifesaving blood transfusion; and when they do, those blood products will come from blood donors who give with LifeServe Blood Center.”

Blood donors do more in one hour than most will do in a lifetime by giving the gift of life! Monroe County Hospital & Clinics invites the community to join their partnership with LifeServe at their upcoming blood drive on November 22 from 9 am-1 pm. To schedule your lifesaving donation, visit lifeservebloodcenter.org or call LifeServe at 800.287.4903.
