Ida Ella Forsythe Piper, 98, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on November 20, 2023 at Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was born on October 23, 1925 in Davis County, Iowa to Walter Henry and Sylvia Bean Stufflebeam. She married Trenton Forsythe on March 15, 1944. He passed away on August 9, 1994. She married Paul Piper on July 31, 2002. He passed away on February 16, 2014.

Ida was a farm wife and an amazing cook. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, fishing, mushroom hunting, coon hunting, and going on gambling trips. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served as president of the VFW Auxiliary for a time. She was a kind-hearted person who helped people her whole life.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Sines of Drakesville; Robert (Kaylee) Forsythe of Belknap; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; infant children, Rodger and Beth; two brothers, Dale Stufflebeam, Homer Stufflebeam; and five sisters, Beulah Stufflebeam, Gail Stufflebeam, Nellie Rose, Eunice Knight, Josie More.

There is not enough time or space to tell all the things Ida accomplished or all the lives she touched along the way. She was a living history book. She will be truly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Bill Eakins officiating. Burial will be at the Drakesville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with the family present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial has been established to the Drakesville Cemetery.
