A Unionville woman, accused of shooting at another woman on Saturday, was arrested after a standoff with law enforcement.

37-year-old Kalie Hutt has been charged with attempted murder and assault on a peace officer while displaying a dangerous weapon.

Appanoose County Sheriff Gary Anderson says deputies were called to the 16100 block of 331st Avenue in Unionville at 6:16 PM on Saturday based on a report that a woman shot at another woman.

Hutt allegedly went to a residence and argued with a female occupant over property. Anderson says Hutt threatened to kill the woman and fired at least three shots at her from the outside of the residence.

The female resident was not injured.

When authorities arrived at the home, they saw Hutt allegedly displaying a handgun towards a deputy. Anderson says when Hutt saw law enforcement, she attempted to escape to the nearby woods.

After 40 minutes of authorities negotiating with Hutt to surrender her weapon, a “conducted energy device” was deployed and Hutt was taken into custody.

Hutt is currently in the Appanoose County Jail where she awaits a hearing with a magistrate judge.
