Naomi Rose Lathrop Grunwald, 92, of Alamo, Texas and formerly Eldon, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, August 30th , 2023, at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Amana, Iowa. As were Naomi’s wishes her body has been cremated and a small graveside service will be on September 11th , 2023 at 11:00 at the Eldon Cemetery, Eldon Iowa. Naomi Rose Lathrop Grunwald was born July 24th , 1931, to Charles and Caroline Hewitt Liles. She was one of sixteen children in her family. Naomi married Melvin Lathrop December 24th , 1947. Together they were parents to five sons. Melvin passed away in 1997 and later Naomi met and married Robert Grunwald.
Naomi worked a variety of jobs throughout her life. She enjoyed gardening and always had beautiful flowers. She was talented at quilting and sewing and always gave her finished pieces to family and friends to enjoy.
Naomi was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, her second husband Robert, ten brothers, Albert, Dwight, Frank, Pardon, Everett, Emmett, Bill, David and Gene, and four sisters, Sarah Talbott, Mary Liles, Rachel Greene and Ruth Boliou.
Left to honor her memory are her five sons; Edward (Debi), Charles (Virginia), Roger (Cindy), Jerry (Sandy) and Tracy; five grandchildren: Josh (Rachel), Shane (Christiane), Benjamin (Anne), Robert (Melissa) and Angie; as well as multiple great and great-great-grandchildren.
