A K-9 unit from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office ended a high-speed chase this past weekend.
On Saturday at 3:00 AM, the Iowa State Patrol was pursuing a vehicle at in excess of 100 mph when the chase entered Albia.
The offender’s vehicle struck a curb and sustained damage. The vehicle then entered a private drive on the 700 block of South Main Street.
The driver fled on foot into a wooded area. The K-9 was deployed and able to track the male suspect which led to his arrest.
The identity of the suspect and the charges he faces were not disclosed by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
