Van Buren County: On May 26th, 2023 at approximately 11:30 A.M. Jeremy Allen Strayer was stopped for a routine traffic violation on Hwy. 16 near Douds. During the stop deputies determined Strayer’s driver’s license status was barred at which time he was taken into custody. Further investigation, and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded one stolen firearm, and a substance consistent with methamphetamine. Strayer was charged with possession of methamphetamine 3rd offense, trafficking stolen weapons, driving while barred, and possesion of drug paraphernalia. Strayer is currently free on bond. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
