Rollin Rex Overstreet, 91, of Libertyville, IA passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Cranston-Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, IA with Pastor Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be held in the South Prairie Cemetery South of Milton, IA immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be decided at a later date. Rex was born on March 13, 1932, near Raritan, Illinois to Cecil Laverne “Pete” and Francis Rankin Overstreet. His family moved in 1946 to a farm South of Cantril, IA. Rex farmed alongside his father and brothers until 1950 when he became a heavy equipment operator. He retired from heavy equipment in 1997.
On January 1, 1952, he married Jean Heminger in Cantril, IA. They had four children, Rick of Keosauqua, Deb of Stockport, Donnie (Kathy) of Farmington, and Pam of Keosauqua. The two later divorced.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Potter, Ronnie, Byron, and Burton; his sister, Donna Augsburger; a nephew, Rollie Overstreet and niece, Cheryl Meinke.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren, Tyler, Alexis, Augustus, and Jaidann.
