Leo M. Blomme, 80, of Batavia, died at 7:34 p.m. June 11, 2023 at Pella Regional Health Center.

He was born May 13, 1943 in Ottumwa to Raymond and Dorothy Marie Blomme. Leo married Helen Teninty on April 4, 1964.

A 1961 graduate of Farson High School, he had been a resident of Batavia all of his life. Leo was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 2020.

He had been a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ottumwa. Leo enjoyed farming, traveling, and kickin’ tires. He loved spending time with family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife, Helen; daughters, Keeta (Tim) Terrell, Julie Richards; sons, Martin (Sheila) Blomme, Michael Blomme, Nick (Jamie) Blomme; grandchildren, T.J. (Emma), Brittany (Brad), Kristen (Josh), Ashley (Logan), Emily (Nate), Megan (Nathan), Austin (Jamie), Taylor, Kaitlyn, Jaron, Jacen, Lelan, Aidric, Brinley; great-grandchildren, Kris, Tate, Brody, Ben, Cora, Crew, Clay, Wyatt, Leah, Piper, Mason, Ayden, Brooklyn, Chloe, Harleigh; siblings, Patty (Mike) Sieren, Jerry (Barb) Blomme and Tom (Diane) Blomme; and many loved extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents; step-father, Tony Thielen; brother, Larry Blomme; sisters-in-law, Karen Blomme, Garnet Bloomquist, and Marjorie Teninty; parents-in-law, Everett and Mary Teninty; and great-grandson, Cooper Houk.

Visitation will be open at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 13th, at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 14th, at Reece Funeral Home. Burial will be in Competine Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
