A southeast Iowa man who was the subject of a days-long manhunt will spend decades behind bars.
A judge sentenced 34-year-old David Duane Boley to nearly 85 years in prison earlier this month for a litany of crimes including theft, burglary, sexual assault, and assaulting an Appanoose County Deputy.
The initial case against Boley involved charges related to the regular sexual abuse of a girl. A warrant was put out for his arrest last May but Boley evaded authorities. Over the course of several days, authorities say Boley threatened people with a gun, broke into a home, and disarmed and assaulted a deputy who had to be hospitalized with multiple facial fractures.
Boley was eventually found hiding under a bed at his wife’s house in Centerville.
Boley is required to serve at least 18 years of his sentence.
