The Ottumwa Police Department says an arrest has been made in connection to a girl that was reported missing Tuesday morning.
At 4:35 AM, police receiving information regarding the missing child, a 11-year-old female. Police say the child arrived at an Ottumwa residence around 9:20 AM and the juvenile was located.
Authorities began investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the juvenile. The investigation resulted in the arrest of the child’s father, 48-year-old Peter Frederic Serrer of Ottumwa.
Serrer was charged with child endangerment, causing bodily injury, a Class D felony and neglect or abandonment of a dependent person, a Class C felony.
Serrer is currently in the Wapello County Jail. The Iowa Department of Human Services assisted with the investigation.
