NWS: More Severe Storms Possible on Tuesday

Following the aftermath of Friday’s storm that produced multiple tornadoes in our listening area, the National Weather Service says another storm could affect Iowa this week.

There is a moderate risk of severe storms hitting central and southern Iowa late Tuesday afternoon and evening. Tornadoes are a possibility, especially east of the Interstate 35 corridor in east central and southeast Iowa.

Damaging winds in the wake of the system are estimated to gust up to 70 mph from Tuesday evening into Wednesday afternoon.

Hail up to two inches in diameter is also possible, according to the National Weather Service.
