Constance Jeanne Tipling, 82, of Ottumwa, died at 11:02 a.m. April 1, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society -Ottumwa.
She was born March 20, 1941 in Ottumwa to Clarence Eugene and LaVonna Best Fosdyck. She married Walter L. Tipling August 6, 1972 and he preceded her in death July 18, 2005.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, she had worked as a teacher for SIEDA Headstart for a short time, but primarily was a stay-at-home mother and wife.
She was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene and had volunteered with Ottumwa Regional Health Center Auxiliary and Blessings Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed gardening, canning and spending time with her family and church friends.
Surviving is her daughter, Susan Murphy (fiancé, Gilbert Luke) of Ollie; three grandchildren, Patrick Shipley, Allison (Aaron) Kephart and Shelby (Darren) Ware; five great grandchildren; her son, Paul’s partner, Michael Hunter of Ottumwa; a sister, Cindy Mae Jones of Rock Hill, SC; a brother, Jim Fosdyck of Garden Grove, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Paul Qualls; three brothers, her twin, Ron Fosdyck, Dale Fosdyck and Jack Fosdyck; along with two infant brothers and an infant sister.
Her body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 5th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Selden officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
