An Ottumwa man was arrested on Thursday stemming from an accusation that he sexually assaulted a woman at a party last summer.
20-year-old Keontae Miller has been charged with third-degree sex abuse, a Class C felony.
On July 31st, police say Miller entered a bathroom that was occupied by the victim. Miller then allegedly performed a sex act on the victim against her will.
Court records say DNA evidence was recovered from clothing the victim was wearing at the time of the incident.
A warrant for Miller’s arrest was issued on Wednesday and he was taken into custody the following day.
Miller was transported to the Wapello County Jail and later freed after posting a bond of $10,000. He’s been ordered not to have any contact with the victim.
The offense of third-degree sex abuse carries a potential sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
