John Clifford Danielson age 76 of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday, February 24, 2023, at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville, with Rev John D. Boatman officiating.  Inurnment will be at a later date at Fell Cemetery.

In-lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with cards and memorials mailed to Chris Danielson, 1924 Hawthorne Ave, Fairfield, IA 52556.

John was born May 7, 1946, at home in Libertyville to Clifford and Martha (Barker) Danielson.  He married Christine Hagans on December 30, 1967.  This last year they celebrated 56 years of marriage.

John graduated from Fairfield High School.  He worked as a machinist for The Nelson Company before purchasing the Ed Bucher Shop.  John sold the shop, to be a fulltime cattle farmer.  John followed after his father raising cattle, hauling, buying, and advising others.  He was active with the Jefferson County Cattlemen’s Association.  Activities he enjoyed were playing cards, fishing, mushroom hunting, and most important was spending time with family and friends.  His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his everything.  John was always there to help anyone, never asking for help, and had a heart of gold.

He will be missed by his wife, Christine of Fairfield, his favorite daughter, Kerri (Dave) Harvey of Urbandale.  3 grandchildren Kassie (Dylan) Laux, Chase (Katie) Harvey, Zoie Harvey.  4 great grandchildren Scarlett and Lennon Laux; Tate and Piper Harvey.  Siblings, Jessie (Ralph) Caves of Douds; Carolyn (Phil) Ellingson of Roland, IA; Linda (Jim) Dougherty of Libertyville; Carl (Sandy) of Buffalo, WY; and sister in-law Evelyn Danielson of Fairfield.  And many nieces, nephews and many good friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Martha, brother Bob Danielson and in-laws Pete and Nadine Hagans.
