A local non-profit will be taking the reins of Ottumwa’s annual Duck Races.
First Resources Corp. (FRC) will be operating the leadership and production of the event moving forward, according to a news release. Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress (GOPIP) ran the event since its return in 2020.
GOPIP CEO Marc Roe says FRC taking over the event is a good fit.
“As our team looked at ways to improve this event and ensure that the Duck Races grew, it became apparent that we should pass the torch to an organization who had the ability to take it to the next level. And I can’t possibly think of an organization that can better manage its future success than First Resources Corp.” GOPIP CEO Marc Roe
After supporting the Duck Races for the past three years, FRC says it is looking forward to a more expanded role to grow the event, continue to increase community engagement and partnerships, and support the agency’s mission.
