Edward Lowell Beggs was born on May 2, 1936, in rural Van Buren County to Hollis and Creola Hervey Beggs. He attended and graduated from Cantril High School and returned to what he loved, the family farm. Lowell farmed for many years with his father and brothers. He raised row crops, along with cattle and hogs. There was always work to be done, and Lowell seldom traveled far from the farm. He was a fan of Allis Chalmers Tractors and used them daily. Farming was in Lowell’s blood. It was not only his work but his hobby. He had a big heart and never spoke poorly of anyone, and nobody had a bad thing to say about him. He would help anyone that was in need. Lowell was a kind soul who will be missed by his family and many friends.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Donald, Bernard, and Lee Beggs.

Left to share his story is one sister, Darlene Bishop of Springfield, MO; two brothers, Ned (Sharon) Beggs of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Jerry (Marge) Beggs of Cantril, IA, as well as many extended family and friends.
