Ottumwa police are investigating the theft of semi tractor trailers from JBS.
Lieutenant Jason Bell of the Ottumwa Police Department says the department was contacted at 7:00 AM on Thursday regarding multiple semi-trailers stolen from JBS.
Police believe a semi was stolen around the area of JBS and that vehicle was used to take three other semi-trailers that contained pork products ready to be distributed.
According to Bell, two of the trailers were found at the Blackhawk River access in Ottumwa. The third was found in Wapello County at the intersection of 87th Street and 170th Avenue. All of the pork products, valued at $100,000, were removed.
Authorities are asking anyone that saw any suspicious activity in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 1st to call the Ottumwa Police Department at (641) 683-0661.
