Wendy Laureen Fears, 46, of Ottumwa, died at 9:02 p.m. July 18, 2022 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born August 23, 1975 in Brunswick, ME to Randall Wayne and Linda Bradley Fears.
Wendy attended Ottumwa High School. She had been the head cook at Good Samaritan, worked as a sous chef at Ottumwa Country Club and had worked 5 years at Cargill Meat Solutions.
She was a passionate cook in volume and feeding people and was a storm chaser.
Surviving is her mother, Linda Fears of Ottumwa; her sister, Julie Fears Ryan of Boone; her brothers, Mark (Reeca) Fears of Moravia and Rick (Heather) Fears of Tennessee; uncles, Dan (Cathy) Bradley and Billy Bradley both of Ottumwa, Gary Fears of South Texas; nephews, Zachary, Brandon, Dayton, Bailey, Jack and Bradley; nieces, Josie and Katie; and her beloved cat, Izzy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Wayne Fears; her grandparents, Ryle and Karen Bradley, Ennis and Madolyn Fears; aunt, Carol Ann Bradley Gilbert and aunt, Pat Fears Simmer.
Her body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Friday, July 22nd at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Schlotter officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page.
