Police: Ottumwa Man Pointed Gun at Victim During Argument

An Ottumwa man was arrested after police say he pointed a gun at an individual during an argument.

Harold Langgin III, 68, has been charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.

On July 10th, court records say Langgin and the victim were engaged in a verbal disagreement. Langgin pulled out a pistol from the storage compartment of his motorcycle and threatened to shoot the victim. Langgin’s actions were witnessed by three other people.

A warrant for Laggin’s arrest was issued on July 15 and he was taken into custody on July 18th.

Laggin was transported to the Wapello County Jail. He was released after posting a $2,000 bond.
