Jackie “Jack” Lee Cook age 79 of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Jack was born September 19, 1942, in Fairfield to Walter and Hazel (Gire) Cook.  He married Mary Ann (Dowd) Harness February 14, 1985, in Fairfield. 

Jack was a lifelong resident of Fairfield and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. 

He worked at Dexter, Fairfield Engineering, City of Fairfield and Logan Apartments retiring in 2005.    Jack was a member of the Eagles, VFW and Walton Club.  He was a big Chicago Cubs fan and collected Cubs memorabilia.  He also collected anything with pertaining to Elvis.  Jack loved talking to people and never knew a stranger.  He loved to play cards with his wife and friends every day.

Jack will be missed by his wife, Mary Ann of Fairfield; his children, Lori Fowler of Oskaloosa Angie Mocol of Packwood and Kurt Harness of Fairfield; 5 grandchildren, Debra Fowler, Olivia Fowler, Rhyienne Fowler, Josh Mocol and Alex Mocol; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hazel; 9 siblings, Paul Cook, Charles Cook, Marvin Cook, James Cook, Bill Cook, Pauline Holt, Aretta Fitzwater, Alberta Dunn and Jeannie Ollom; and foster daughter, Teresa Skirvin.

A celebration of life gathering will be 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., August 6, 2022 at the VFW.

Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
