Comets baseball bows out to Mid-Prairie 4-0


The Cardinal Comets fell in Class 2A District 11 semi-final to the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks 4-0

After a scoreless first inning for both teams, the Golden Hawks would start the scoring in the second inning. After a bunt and a Comet error, Tyler Helmuth would drive in the game’s first run to give the Golden Hawks a 1-0 lead after the second. In the third inning, the teams would go scoreless. In the fourth, the Golden Hawks would push their lead with a Cain Brown RBI to lead 3-0 after four innings. The fifth inning saw the Comets strand the bases loaded, the Golden Hawks would go down in order to keep the game 3-0 after five. The Golden Hawks would get one more run with a Cain Brown RBI to give the Golden Hawks 4-0. The Golden Hawks would go on to win 4-0 and will advance to the Class 2A District 11 title game Saturday

The Cardinal Comets wrap up the season at 17-8, and the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks improve to 16-10

The Comets say goodbye to seven seniors including Kaleb Figuroa, Donald Peterson, Corbin Humble, Landon Becker, Matt Streeby, Tristin Cloke, and Blaine Bryant
