Shirley Diane McCauley, 86, of Muscatine, formerly of Ottumwa, died June 8, 2022 at Lutheran Living in Muscatine.
She was born August 15, 1935 in Wapello County to Ray C. and Jean A. Roberts Rose. She married Teddie M. McCauley on October 4, 1953 and they lived in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Oskaloosa, Ottumwa and Muscatine. Teddie preceded her in death October 13, 2016.
Shirley was a graduate of Ottumwa High School, William Penn University and had attended Iowa State University. Professionally, she taught piano and organ for 13 years and then was in marketing and public relations for 23 years.
Surviving are her sons, Kevin V. McCauley and Kurtis J. McCauley both of Muscatine; her daughter, Kim I. Stout of El Paso, TX; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis Rose of North Liberty; and sister, Sharon Check of Washougal, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, infant Lila M. and Phyllis Ann Rose.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13th at Reece Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 14th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Childs officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow the service.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Chisman Cemetery.
