Norman Trowbridge, age 80, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020, of Bethesda, MD, formerly of Collinsville, Illinois.

Born August 25, 1939 in Urbana, IL to the late Wayne and Betty Trowbridge, Norman grew up in Champaign, Illinois. While working for Lake Central Airlines in Chicago, he met his future wife, Karol, and they were married on May 6, 1961. He joined the Army in 1963 and was stationed in Berlin, Germany from 1963-1965, where he and Karol enjoyed meeting new friends and traveling in Europe.

Upon their return to the United States, they moved to Indiana, where they had a daughter, and then to Centerville, Iowa, where Norman worked and attended college. He graduated from Northeast Missouri State University (later renamed Truman State University) with a degree in accountancy in 1972. Upon graduation, the family moved to Collinsville, Illinois, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. He was employed as an auditor by the U.S. General Accounting Office in St. Louis from 1972 until his retirement in 1995.

In his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, watching the Cardinals beat the Cubs and the Nats, traveling to see his grandchildren in the DC area, and traveling with family members on regular trips to Kauai.

Norman is the beloved husband of Karol (nee Kruzich) Trowbridge of Bethesda; devoted father of Kara (husband, Neal) Parker of Bethesda; cherished grandfather of Lily, Tommy and Grace Parker, all of Bethesda; loving brother of Judy (husband, Larry) Stroud of Effingham, Illinois. Also survived by his sister-in-law Alyce (husband, Mark) Maher of Perry, Kansas; his brother-in-law Tom (wife, Mary) Kruzich of Boise, Idaho; and 7 nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Arden Courts of Kensington.

Graveside services will be held at 11AM, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa with Fr.
