Lois Jean Coulter, 73, of Ottumwa, passed away June 26, 2022 at her home.
She was born September 2, 1948 in Ottumwa to Richard Howe and Clara Ilene Coulter.
Lois graduated in 1967 from Santa Monica High School. She had worked at Goodwill in Santa Monica, where she grew up for part of her life alongside her sisters and brother.
Lois was a one of a kind person, she always had a smile on her face and a story or joke to tell. She loved her family with all of her heart and made sure that you knew it. You could find Lois watching a Hawkeye football game or a St. Louis Cardinal baseball game in her free time. She loved expressing herself through crafts and always made gifts for her family. She had the sweetest of souls and will be missed dearly by her family.
Surviving are her siblings, Lisa (Derrick) Proctor of Floris, Richard (Sherry) Jr. Coulter of Oskaloosa and Linda (Doug) Nelson of South Carolina; 10 nieces and nephews, Tom (Theresa) Coulter, Chuck (Erika) Coulter, Timothy Nelson, Kimberly Nelson, Cassandra (Bruce) Hopkins, Sonya Coulter, Carissa (Troy) Pilcher, Katie Coulter, Brooke Hilt, Morgan Coulter; 12 great-nieces and nephews, Brayden, Jesalynn, Kenzlee, Sofia, Reagan, Kevin, Ellise, Taylor, Blake, Tyler, Bryan and Weston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Michael Coulter; sister-in-law, Connie Coulter; and brother-in-law, Kevin Hilt.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1st at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2nd at Reece Funeral Home. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in the Ottumwa Cemetery.
