The Ottumwa Bulldogs knocked off the Centerville Big Reds 12-2 in five innings

The Big Reds would strike first and lead after 1 inning 1-0. The Bulldogs would strike in the bottom of the second with one of four consecutive innings where they would score four runs. The Bulldogs lead 3-1 after two innings. The Big Reds would again cut into the Bulldog lead in the third inning to take the lead 3-2 going to the bottom of the third. That would be as close as the Big Reds would get. The Bulldogs would tally three runs in each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings to win 12-2 in five innings. The starter for the Bulldogs 8th grader Tucker Long would pick up the win for the Bulldogs.

Bulldog stats: Tucker Long 5IP, 2H, 2R, 1ER, 2BB, 8K and batted for 1 single and 2 walks; Tanner Schark 2 single, 1 triple, 4 RBIs, and 2 runs scored; and five Bulldogs had 2 walks each

The win improves the Bulldogs to 4-7, the Big Reds fall to 2-10

Up next for the Bulldogs is playing host to Des Moines North in conference play in a doubleheader, the Big Reds will take on Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Wednesday evening
