Marvin Eugene Rozenboom, age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the MHP Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was born June 4, 1936, at the home of his parents, Joe and Gertrude (nee Van Maanen) Rozenboom. Marvin attended Oskaloosa Christian Grade School and completed one year at Pella Christian High School. He went to work at the age of 15 and completed the GED while in the Iowa National Guard. On August 25, 1957, he was united in marriage to Viola Jean (nee Vander Linden) Rozenboom in the Central Reformed Church in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

They moved to a farm northeast of Oskaloosa in 1960. Marvin was an excellent farmer and followed many conservative farming practices for 47 years. He built their current home on a farm east of Lacey, Iowa. In addition to farming, Marvin worked both as an insurance and real estate agent. Marvin and Jean later spent many years volunteering with CRC Disaster Recovery, Habitat Builders, and SIL Wycliffe Bible Translators in Arizona where they resided in the winter months.

Marvin was a self-taught man of many skills, including carpentry and wood working. He built many pieces of mission style furniture from trees harvested from one of their farms, and the beautiful furniture graces their Iowa home. He loved working with his grandchildren in the woodshop and with the farm tools, teaching them the skills he had learned. Marvin made many pieces of furniture for each of his eight grandchildren, along with several wooden toys, ornaments and other projects.

Marvin professed his faith in his Lord and Savior in his teens and participated in many churches during his lifetime.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Viola Jean Rozenboom; his two children, Gloria (John) Boeringa and Nathan (Teresa Muhl) Rozenboom; his eight grandchildren, Jonathan Boeringa, Kristen Boeringa, Zachary Boeringa, Isaac Boeringa, Erica Rozenboom, Rachel Rozenboom, Sarah Rozenboom and Elijah Rozenboom. He is also survived by his extended family, Geneva Rozenboom, Ron (Zelda) Rozenboom, Ed (Mary) Rozenboom, Arlene (Bill) Wilder, Irvin (Kathy) Rozenboom and many other friends and family.

Marvin was preceded in death by Joe and Gertrude (nee Van Maanen) Rozenboom, Gerald Rozenboom, Eunice (Don) Vos, Marilyn Rozenboom, and Shirley Blom.
