Judith Ann Lee, 69, of Ankeny, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 6:40 p.m. May 18, 2022 at Taylor House in Des Moines.
She was born April 27, 1953 in Ottumwa to John William Joseph “Joe” and Dorothy Willadene Anderson Griffin. She married Charles Leslie Lee in 1972 and they later divorced.
A 1971 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Judy earned her RN license from Indian Hills Community College. She had worked at Ottumwa Regional Health Center and was the Director of Nursing for Sunnyslope. Judy worked for Principal in Des Moines, retiring in 2003.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and making sugar cookies.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Kristina Vest (Jason Phillips) of Ottumwa and Janice Lee (Thenus Franklin) of Des Moines; 5 grandchildren, Alex and Trenton Vest, Zoe and Carson Phillips and Payton Bills; a great-granddaughter, Berlin Vest; brother, John (Barbara) Griffin of Burlington; a nephew, David Griffin of Iowa City; a niece, Sarah Steeby of Lee’s Summit, MO; an adopted sister, Marlene Greiner and a good friend, Doris Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11th at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Blakesburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
