A southeast Iowa man has been arrested after police say he sexually abused a woman in Cedar Rapids.

24-year-old Matthew Kasper of Oskaloosa has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony.

Authorities say on November 24, 2021, Kasper committed a sex act on a woman who was asleep and unable to give consent in the presence of several witnesses.

Kasper allegedly admitted to the offense but claimed it was an accident.

A warrant for Kasper’s arrest was issued on April 15 and he was taken into custody on April 20.

Kasper is currently in the Linn County Jail where he is being held on a $10,000 bond.
