Dolene Ann Houk, 60, of Ottumwa, died at 5:35 a.m. March 30, 2022 at home.
She was born June 27, 1961 in Ottumwa to Donald and Jolene Ann McCall Frueh. Dolene married DeVerne Thomas “Tom” Houk in December of 1983 and they were remarried on June 14, 2014. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2014.
A 1979 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Dolene had worked 9 years for Target, 2 years for Sears Portrait Studio and 7 ½ years for Claires. She loved animals and traveling.
Surviving is a step-daughter, Tonya; a step-granddaughter, Christina; 2 sisters, Becky (Mike) Bonney and Terry (Tom) Grooms and a brother, Mark Frueh.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Daena Ryan.
The family is having a meal and a time to gather from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 3rd, at The Gathering Room, 501 N. Sheridan, Ottumwa.
Her body has been cremated. Graveside services and inurnment will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 4th, at Shaul Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Wyldes officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society.
