Debra Anne Troxel, 60, of Ottumwa, died at 2:45 p.m. March 5, 2022 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
She was born December 12, 1961 in Ottumwa to Merrill and Verna A. Simmons Eakins. She married George F. Troxel and he preceded her in death August 13, 1993.
A 1980 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Deb worked for APAC Teleservices until 2003 and then 16 years at Walmart, retiring in 2019.
Deb enjoyed going to casinos, watching NASCAR and spending time with her friends. She loved her children and cherished walking her daughter down the aisle at her wedding. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she enjoyed attending her grandson’s baseball and football games.
Surviving are two daughters, Melissa (Justin) Wissink of Bloomfield and Nicole Troxel (Jeremy Hicks) of Pocahontas; ten grandchildren, Makenzie, Ayden, Grant, Hayleigh, Morgan, Jordan, Mckenna, Dakota, Braeden and Logan; along with one on the way; her companion of the past 17 years, Scott Mason; a brother, Nick Eakins of Perry; a brother-in-law, Ted Johnson of Ida Grove; two nieces, Jessica and Melinda Johnson; two best friends, Judy Hull of Ottumwa and Rebecca Hulen of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leon “Dusty” Neff III; two sisters, Vicky Johnson and infant, Pamela Dickinson.
Visitation will be open after 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 8th at Reece Funeral Home with her family present to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9th at Reece Funeral Home. For those unable to attend the service, you may watch live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Fiedler Cemetery.
