Roberta Louise Campbell, 88, of Ottumwa, died at 5 a.m. June 17, 2024 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born August 16, 1935 in Ottumwa to Robert and Donna LaGarcier Ransom. Roberta married James T. Campbell on November 21, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1999.
Roberta attended Ottumwa schools and she and her husband owned and operated Ottumwa Janitor Service. Roberta had worked at Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehab, from where she retired.
She enjoyed being at the cabin on the river and fishing. Roberta provided many delicious meals for her family and friends, especially at the holidays.
Surviving are her 2 sons, Bill (Patty) Mock of Michigan and Steve (Bonnie) Campbell of Agency; her 2 daughters, Julie Campbell (Steven Smith) of Agency and Deb Wright of Ottumwa; 4 grandchildren, Kelcey Campbell (Jacoby Deshler), Ashley Sly, Jake Williams and Erin Williams (Ryan Sheets); 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Joshua Lynn Campbell and a brother, Chuck Ransom.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 21st at Reece Funeral Home with Chaplain Gary Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
