Judith Irene Hopkins, 82, of Ottumwa, died June 20, 2024 at her home.
She was born January 27, 1942 in Unionville, MO to Bud and Una Carson. She married Richard Hoffman in 1961 and they later divorced. She married John Paul Hopkins December 24, 1971 and he preceded her in death February 14, 2012.
A graduate of Unionville High School in Missouri, Judith worked at AEA as a secretary until her retirement. She had been a member of Ottumwa Baptist Temple.
Judith enjoyed visiting with others, shopping, gardening and flowers. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children; Tammy (Jeff) Lender of Grinnell and Monte (Melissa) Hoffman of Alaska; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Annie Morris of Cedar Rapids and Roberta (Robert) Brown of Independence, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Rhonda Chisholm.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 28th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery in Unionville, IA. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.
