Marilyn Perkins, 86, of Des Moines and formerly of Ottumwa, died April 27, 2019 at Taylor House in Des Moines.
She was born March 14, 1933 in Wapello County to Enos and Isabelle Petersen Proctor. She married Ray Perkins June 8, 1952 and he preceded her in death October of 2001.
Marilyn graduated from Davis County High School. She was a member of Indianola Heights Evangelical Free Church in Des Moines. She loved her family and grandkids.
Surviving are 3 children, Connie (John) Blanchard of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, Michael (Lori) Perkins of Unionville, IA and Beckie (Dave) Robinson of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Lillian White, Jean (Charles “Toad”) Swaim, Wanda (Kenneth) Long and Judy (Dick) Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 daughters, Cindy Pincock, Janice Post and Debbie Childers; a sister, Kathlene (Bill) Griffin; and a brother-in-law, Layne White.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Fry officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Blakesburg.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Indianola Heights Evangelical Free Church in Des Moines.
