Larry Dean Heller was born on November 10, 1939 in Arlington, KS to Albert and Shirley Reynolds Heller. The family moved to Dalhart, TX where Larry attended school and graduated with the class of 1958. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country aboard the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Enterprise. After his honorable discharge from the service he began working for the Rock Island Railroad. His career eventually took him to Eldon, IA where he worked as an engineer for the Rock Island. Larry worked hard to support his family and remained with the Rock Island until it’s closing in 1980. He then began working for the ANR Pipeline (TransCanada) in Birmingham, IA. He was a devoted employee until his retirement in 2000. Larry knew the value of hard work and could always be counted on to get the job done. He found peace and relaxation in taking his Harley Davidson out for a ride on the highways of Southeast Iowa. He will be deeply missed by his family and the many that called him friend.
