8:30-10:00 a.m.: Check In/Registration Opens

8:45-9:45 am  How to Lobby: Advocacy Training for First-Time Advocates (This session is geared for those new to advocacy. You’ll learn the basics: how to navigate the Iowa State Capitol, how to find and connect with legislators representing your home district, how to tell your story, and how to structure your message. Seasoned advocates may choose to skip this session and join us at 10:00 a.m.)

9:45-10:00 a.m.: Break

10:00-10:15 a.m.: Welcome, Overview of NAMI Iowa 2023 Legislative Priorities, Grassroots Advocacy

10:15-11:30 a.m.: Panel Discussion: Children’s Mental Health Policy

11:30- 12:30 p.m.: Panel Discussion: Iowa’s Mental Health Workforce

12:30-1:15 p.m.: Lunch

1:00-1:30 p.m.: Buses to Capitol

1:15-3:30 p.m.: Lobbying at Capitol
