Monarch Migration Tagging Event

September 7, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Monarch Migration Tagging Event

September is the time for the magnificent monarch migration. Each year thousands of people across the continent tag these insects to aid in the studies of Monarch Watch. The Wapello County Conservation Board will be joining in again this year with the first tagging event on Friday, September 7. If you would like to know more about the journey of the monarchs and help us catch and tag them on their journey, come out to Pioneer Ridge Nature Center at 5:00 pm. All ages are welcome at this event, and no registration is required. We have butterfly nets for you to use, but you can bring your own if you have one. Be prepared to be off the trail and in the prairie. Contact the conservation board if you have any questions about this event – 641-682-3091.
