With funding from Humanities Iowa, Blakesburg Historical Preservation Society is sponsoring “Iowa Country Schools: Landmarks of Learning” with presenter Bill Sherman, at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at the Blakesburg Methodist Church (314 S. High Street).  Anyone interested in the nostalgia of country schools will enjoy Bill’s presentation on the teaching and the learning that took place within the four walls of Iowa’s one-room schools.

Also featured will be interactive discussions on area country schools; the audience is encouraged to share their own country school experiences and to bring maps showing country school locations, books, photographs, diaries, and related items which can be shared  with participants.

Open to the public. Free admission. Refreshments will be served.
