Connie Baker


Connie Jo Baker, 79, of Ottumwa died at 9:07 a.m. February 24, 2022 at her home under the care of Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.

She was born June 29, 1942 in Ottumwa to John “Jack” Joseph and Lola Belle Erickson Orman. She married Robert “Bob” Baker July 10, 1964.

A 1960 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Connie had worked at Target.

She had been a member of Willard Street United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, trips with her friends and caring for her beloved dogs, Joey, Zoey and Sanbo.

Surviving is her husband, Bob; daughters, Kris Neubert of Ottumwa, Julie (Tate) Davidson of Avon Lake, OH and Jennifer Baker of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley) Warfield, Jessica Horvath, Elijah (Gillian) Albertson, Riley Albertson, Sara Neubert, Elizabeth Horvath, Ada Davidson, Zella Davidson, River Ross and Soren Davidson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kelly Jo Albertson; two brothers, Frank Orman and Kenneth Orman; a sister, Jan Klemp.

Her body has been cremated.

Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 27th at Reece Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Monday, February 28th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. For those unable to attend the service, it may be viewed on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page.
