Bridge View Center Gives $200,000 To City

Bridge View Center Inc. has made their largest contribution yet to the City of Ottumwa.

According to a press release from Bridge View Center, Inc., their Board of Directors, represented by Board President Jamie Scott, recently presented a $200,000 check to the City of Ottumwa. The contribution is to assist the City in supplementing the daily operations of Bridge View Center throughout fiscal year 2022. With this check, Bridge View Center has given more than $1.5 million in supplementary assistance to the City of Ottumwa since March 2009. This check is also the largest single amount given to the City since 2009. These funds come from the Bridge View Center, Inc. Endowment Trust fund, established in 2005 to assist the City of Ottumwa in supporting the annual ongoing operations of Bridge View Center.

Bridge View Center Inc. raised $2.5 million for the construction of Bridge View Center in 2005-2006 as well as $2 million for the Endowment Trust Fund. The total cost of Bridge View Center was $23 million, of which $7.5 million came from Vision Iowa, a grant program established by the State of Iowa, $2.5 million from Bridge View Center Inc., $12 million from the City of Ottumwa, $1 million from Wapello County, and the remainder from Ottumwa area businesses, residents, and others involved with this project.
