Ottumwa Community Schools Food Service will offer free grab-and-go lunches for students Friday, October 23, during the district’s Virtual Learning Day.
The program is intended to help ensure students continue to have access to nutritious meals despite changes to the regular school schedule.
Friday’s lunch menu will include a turkey and cheese bento, carrot sticks, apple slices and a carton of milk.
Lunches will be available for pickup from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Ottumwa High School in the Fourth Street bus loading zone.
Families were required to preorder meals through the ParentSquare message by 9 a.m. Thursday, October 22, to allow the Food Service team time to prepare the meals. One free lunch is available per child.
Ottumwa Community Schools appreciates its Food Service team for providing this service and continuing to support students and families during schedule changes.
