Wapello County voters planning to vote absentee in the November 3, 2026 General Election will have several opportunities to cast their ballots before Election Day.
In-person absentee voting will begin Wednesday, October 14, at the Wapello County Auditor’s Office, located at 101 West Fourth Street in Ottumwa.
Voters who want an absentee ballot mailed to them must submit their absentee ballot request to the Wapello County Auditor’s Office by 5 p.m. Monday, October 19.
The Auditor’s Office will also offer extended in-person absentee voting hours on Saturday, October 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The final day for in-person absentee voting is Monday, November 2.
Voted absentee ballots must be received by the Wapello County Auditor’s Office no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3. Voters are encouraged to return their ballots early to ensure they arrive by the deadline.
The Wapello County Auditor’s Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
