A reported assault in Knoxville led to an arrest and the issuance of a no-contact order following an investigation by local law enforcement.
On May 7 at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Knoxville Police Department responded to the 600 block of Harlan Street Place following a report of an assault.
According to court documents, when officers arrived at the scene, the victim told law enforcement that 20-year-old Summer Gomez, of Knoxville, had punched her in the face multiple times.
The criminal complaint states Gomez admitted to punching the victim and acknowledged that she knew her actions were wrong.
Gomez was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail. She was later released following an order of disposition.
A no-contact order was issued on May 8.
Gomez has been charged with assault, a general simple misdemeanor.
