A recent investigation by local law enforcement has uncovered a disturbing case of stalking involving the unauthorized use of a tracking device.

On March 25th, around 4:16 PM, the Story County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of stalking.

Upon arrival, court documents revealed that Chad Metcalf, 48, of Eldridge, had knowingly engaged in a pattern of behavior directed at the victim. He allegedly placed and used an unauthorized tracking device on the victim’s vehicle, utilizing an account linked to his email, phone number, and credit card.

According to information provided by the GPS company, this behavior began on March 6th and continued until March 26th. The victim reported that these actions caused her reasonable fear for her safety.

Chad Metcalf is currently detained at the Scott County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 28th. Additionally, a no-contact order was issued on April 10th.

Metcalf faces two counts of stalking using a technological device, classified as a Class C felony.
