Richard Eugene Swope, 62, of Ottumwa, died March 21, 2026 at his home.
He was born March 9, 1964 in Ottumwa to Edward Eugene and Nancy Teasdale Swope.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, Richard had served with the Iowa Army National Guard.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR and playing Yahtzee.
Surviving is his brother, Bradley Swope of Ottumwa; nephews, Bradley Swope II of Ottumwa and Patrick (Brie) Woten of Oskaloosa; a niece, Jackie (Robert) Kendrick of Ottumwa; 3 great-nieces, Raylynn, Liberty and Isabella.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sara Bergmeier.
His body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
