Registration is now open for Self-Care Strategies for Resilient Individuals and Communities, an upcoming educational program offered by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Jefferson County.

The program will be held in person on April 9th at the Jefferson County Extension Office and will be presented as a lunch-and-learn. A meal will be provided, with the session scheduled to run from noon to 1 p.m.

According to Courtney Burkhalter, County Director, the program is designed to help individuals better care for themselves during stressful times.

“When you’re facing challenges, it’s extra important to take care of yourself,” Burkhalter said. “In this program you’ll explore six strategies to help you recharge and stay grounded.”

During the session, participants will learn about a variety of self-care strategies and will be encouraged to choose the ones that best fit their lives. Attendees will also create a plan to help incorporate those strategies into their daily routines.

“Practicing self-care can help you feel more balanced, energized and strong every day,” Burkhalter said.

The program is being offered free of charge, but registration is required.

More information is available online through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, or by contacting Burkhalter at the Jefferson County Extension Office at 641-472-4166 or cburk@iastate.edu.
