The Police in Ottumwa are investigating an early-morning shooting that left one person seriously injured.
The Ottumwa Police Department, officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 300 block of Tindell Street at approximately 4:09 a.m. Friday. When officers arrived, they located one individual suffering from serious injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.
Authorities confirmed that a suspect has been taken into custody. However, formal charges have not yet been filed as investigators continue gathering information.
Police say several witnesses were present at the scene, and detectives are actively working to determine what led up to the shooting. Additional information is expected to be released once charges are formally filed.
