Hear the interview with Tim Ostrem
Hear the interview with Dave Walton.
Two Midwest farmers say the future of biofuels spans aviation, marine and rail.
Tim Ostrem a South Dakota farmer and United Soybean Board member, tells Brownfield “Biofuels are an answer to keeping our environment cleaner for the high traffic areas of harbors, ports and train depots. They want a cleaner fuel in that system.”
Dave Walton, an Iowa farmer and vice-president of the American Soybean Association, says building new markets takes time.
And Walton says infrastructure is needed to expand the use of biofuels in all three markets, but that won’t come without updated policy and tax credit guidance.
“It’s kind of a chicken and the egg thing right there, but that’s where we’re at.”
Brownfield interviewed Ostrem and Walton at the Clean Fuels Conference.
