Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Mary Elizabeth Chaknine, who has been reported missing.
Chaknine, 33, was last known to have contact on January 16, 2026. She is described as a white female, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 195 pounds. She has red hair and blue eyes.
The Fort Madison Police Department and the Iowa Missing Person Information Clearinghouse are actively investigating her disappearance.
Officials urge anyone who may have information regarding Chaknine’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately. If you believe you have seen her, do not take action on your own. Instead, gather as much information as possible, including the exact location of the sighting, any associated vehicle descriptions such as license plate numbers, and observed activities, and report that information to authorities.
