As dangerously cold temperatures impact the area, Wapello County officials are reminding residents that several local locations are available as warming centers for anyone needing relief from the cold.
While many public buildings can offer shelter during regular business hours, a number of sites have specifically confirmed they welcome individuals seeking a warm place to spend time. These locations provide a safe indoor environment for residents to warm up during freezing conditions.
Available warming locations include Seida Auditorium, the Ottumwa Public Library, Quincy Place Mall, the Bridge View Center, and Blessings Soup Kitchen. Each site is open on a regular schedule and accessible to the public.
